Why not,keep them separate then put them together after a couple months of alone time, a few minutes after adding the female to the males tank simulate rain (use a sprayer or hose etc

Why simulate rain? Never heard of breeders doing this.

Old thread, but it is actually very common practice to simulate rain to encourage breeding in all kinds of aquatic species.
