Hey MFK! Well, I wanted to line the basement wall with 10 gallon tanks or stack them on top of each other on shelves. But, I was wondering if there any ways to filter them all at once instead all individual. would that be possible? one tank will be a pair of dwarf gouramis, another planted tank with zebra danios, and another with a pair of killifish. Any ideas?

but wouldnt each fish tank need different parameters? thats what im concerned about

i dont know about your parameters . but as far as the plumbing , im pretty sure there is a thread on that under diy somewhere .

A central filtration system would work great until one of your fish gets sick and is sharing it's water with everybody else. If you set up a separate quarantine tank you should be fine, just don't tie it into the breeding tanks.

thats what I was thinking.. if one there is one fish with ick it could spread to every single fish

lol yea that would suck come home and every tank has ick because of one fish... I lost all my Piranhas like that...

I would do the sponge filter in every tank but I dont like the bubbles that come out frmo the top and messing up the water surface because one of my fish need to make bubble nests to breed and another I wanna let duckweed cover up.

So should I or not?

if u decide to go with one sump i'd definitely use a uv sterilizer. that'd take care of a lot of the junk in the water that could make u'r fish sick. if u care about the fish it'd be worth the cost
