Breeding temp?

Was wondering if keeping temp around 80 degrees constant or cooler for a bit then ramping it up to 80 again is better?

I keep my temp right about 80 degrees all the time. Mine spawn often.

Ok thanks... I have a pair def paired off.. dont leave each others side and are constantly flirting and showing off their colors and mouth eachother... just no spawn yet

Many African cichlid keepers have said that a water change that puts the temperature maybe 3 degrees F cooler than normal will initiate spawning. The heater will soon bring the temperature up to where it belongs. I have tried that. There might be something to it or maybe just coincidence. I don't know about other cichlids.

No I have heard that too.. because the cooler water resembled spring showers or something along those lines
