Breeding triggers

Hello
Just wondered if there are any common breeding triggers for central american cichlids. Ihave a pair of cryptoheros/archocentrus cutteri, they are a proven breeding pair however whilst in my possesion they have failed to spawn, they are constantly flirting and the female always has a swolen belly and her ovipository tube is always slightly visible but not extended. Just wondered if there were any major triggers that could set them off.

alot of ppl just get the temp high then do a water change and replace the water you took out with cold water. thats all i could think of other then give the alone time.
