Well, I came home today to see my Uaru's making a mess of my tank. All of the sand in the middle of the tank is pushed out to the front and back of the tank. I have 3 almost full grown Geo Redheads in the same tank.

I bought the Uarus about a month ago @ 3-4" from the LFS. I just picked out two and well, 1 male and 1 female! I really just bought them to 'add' something else to the tank. The female will probly lay eggs tonight:) I went ahead and turned the lights off and I'll just have to wait and see what morning brings. Anyone else ever bred Uaru A?

My female has a slight pudge in her belly and her tube is huge.

Mine would dig here and there but they have completely redecorated. I done a WC a few days ago(50%) and I added water @ a PH of 6.4 and I was keeping the tank @ about 7.0 I haven't tested it yet but I assume it is about 6.7 I also raised the temp about 3 degrees. sitting at 86-87 degrees right now.

no but i have a pair digging in the gravel :)

me to.... they just started digging last week. i have had them just over a year.

titansfever83, i am suprised yours are digging at such a small size they usually take quite some time to become mature.

Ever since I bought them they NEVER seperate and just pick on everything else in the tank. I didn't see any eggs this morning but the bottom of the tank had been covered up with sand again. I forgot, are they substrate spawners?

I added a divider last night too. Not sure if that might have distracted their spawning site since I had to place it about 3-4" from where they were digging.
