Breeding Umbis for the first time

Okay! Is normal for the male to beat up the female? There are both about 6in. I have a divider up right now but when he goes roght ay her. What other options do I have besides the divider.

Probably need to wait until he's bigger and you can add places for her to hide. Zero experience breeding them, but from set ups I've seen, they all have places only the female can get to. The most interesting I've seen is Andy Woods putting a divider 1/3 of the tank and cutting holes just big enough for the female to get through.

Thanks for advice! I too have see. That video where he gets them breed through the divider. 1st time i had that happen.
