breeding wolffish?

what is the possibility for a pair of wolf to breed? and may i know as well on how to differentiate their sex?

I saw a pair with a cloud of a thousand fry when I was a teenager going around to shops. They were in a 20 long and about 10 inches each. I guess it can be done, but who knows how it happened. I saw it, but I have no idea how it happened.
