i have 3 convicts, 2 females and 1 male, i was wondering if the male will breed with one of them or both, because today i noticed the male and one of the females would chase the other female
breeding?

One. Cons are pair forming fish. I re-did my older pair's tank today and as soon as I put them in there they attacked the other female. The extra female makes a good dither fish to help the pair "bond".
I had a 55 gal with 2 males and 2 females. One male services both females while the other male was the target of all 3's attacks. Feeling sorry for the guy I divided the tank in half and put one female and one male on each side. The weaker male paired with the less aggressive female and the dominant male with the more aggressive female and they spawned a few times before I decided to get rid of them all together. Depends on compatibility and circumstances.
