when breeding rays should they be alone in a tank by themself or can a bicher fish be in the tank? wasn't sure if other things in the tank will stress them out.... i allways here people saying they woke up and seen new pups in their tank. and in some pics ive seen other fish in the tank also just wanted to ask.... and one more thing will rays breed better in pond tubs are tanks better?

Ive seen both scenarios work. I think it depends on the personalities of the ray and fish involved. You just have to play it out by ear. Obviously if you have an agro fish or nervous ray then a solitary couple would be best. Bichirs tend to share the same space as rays hence I would not put the bichir in the tank thou again it just depends on the fish.

Tank space can also make a huge difference in the tankmates personality. The more room the less likelyhood of stress for all tankmates involved.

Gluck!!!

thanks man was just curious...... what about useing pond tubs or the tubs that horses drink out of there is a live stock store where i live and those tubs are pretty big wasn't sure if i could use them

tubs dont make then breed better. But more breeders use tubs insted of tanks for the price. Rays arent cheep. SO its not better its just more probiblity

I think that tubs can be better depending on the ray. My thinking is that in a tub the rays only have one line of vision to worry and stress about, the top. In a regular tank they have more in their line of sight to stress them out over.
