If it is your first time breeding cichlids...Go with Convict cicihlids....You are 100% guaranteed fry within a week or two....After seeing the parental habits of the con, you will appreciate more the breeding process of cichlids....You will discover buying extra equipment such as airstones, special fry food, special filters, and more tanks is a must when breeding....You will discover feeding the fry 2-5 times a day, depending on the age.....Once you get the fry to a month old, or fish shape, then you will discover the amount of time you will put into selling and/or keeping of the spawn....You will discover that sometimes you will not have enough room due to the fact your pair has spawned again, "What to do??"This is all part of the amusing adventures of breeding............

BTW, the cost of an adult 4 inch male Convict Cichlid would be around $3-10, sometimes 15..Usually buying a group of 5 1 inch youngters will result in the pairing of two within a 2 weeks time......

Kribnesis are the best starter fish . They are beautiful , cheap, sells good, protect their fry, and breed every two weeks if there is no fry.

I've decided on Angelfish or Discus
