If you have a look at some of the threads it will answer your questions.
But yes you can mate different species can mate if you look in the media lounge there are some good pics of hybrids to give you an idea.
Except when you break the law in some states, that gets back to Fish and Game, and then can get back to the Importation Dept. and make it harder for us who are leagal to have them get them.
There is a reason rays are not allowed in CA, and being your state already has a large fish market and Fish and Game keeps a big watch on those imports, it can be a headach for the rest of us legal owners..
Besides the fact that Fish and Game does watch this site and now you have put it out there you are a breaking the law in CA. SO dont be surprised if F&G comes to your door one day..
Keep it legal...go with salt water rays. You dont want the headache. a big benifit is california and yellow rays stay small. Also they have had yellow rays breed in captivity. That would be my route if I lived in an illegal state.
Oh and I was just asking a question about rays I didn't say I wanted to breed them or anything of the sort.. I didnt know it was a crime to talk about them no matter where I live!!!!
in all fairness he never did say that he wanted to keep rays he was only asking about breeding .
a few people just posted some advice and i think it was taken the wrong way which ends up in arguments the guy is new and this is not really a good way welcome him or her and perhaps the poster could of not bit to a negative comment and you didnt need to change your location.
but if you stand by saying "Get a grip man it's only a fish" then you are in the wrong place.
hopefully some of the comments were helpfull and answered your question.
