Breeding??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you have a large tank with many adult clown loaches you might end up with a breeding pair.

Simply put NO. While it has happened a couple of times by dumb luck it is very unlikely the average or even advanced aquarist can get them to breed in a tank. You would have to to provide live forage and mimic the ph, temp, water level fluctuations that happen in the wild that set off the breeding behavior. That combined with the size and age it takes for a CL to mature sexually makes it a tough task. Just look at how many CL are sold every year and yet there have been only a few instances of in tank breeding (without hormones)
