Has any one attempted to keep these two fish together? I ahve a 150g with A male and female Grammodes about 5" ea Ihave an opportunity to aquire a male Breidohri apx 11" and very thick. This is the only tank that I would be willing to place the Breidohri into. I personally think it is a roll of the dice but would like to know if anyone has had this paring and what the results were.

Grammodes are very aggressive even at a small size. You have a male and female already established in the tank if lucky it may work for a little while but long term as the gram modes get bigger it probably won't work. Although there is always exceptions...

I would tend to agree with Cichlidfever, if the grammode pair has already established the entire tank as their territory the breidhori may be at a serious disadvantage.
I had a small pair of grammodes in a 75 gal, and they'd kill anything else in it.

Not that the breidhori is a push over, especially at the size you state, but breidhori aren't the most aggressive of the Vieja types. Mine could hold their own against many tankmates, but grammodes can be lethal when they already own the turf.

That said, nuth88 had a young grammodes in a 220gal community that seemed to work.

If/When they pair its a slow fate for the other Fish. An 11" Male Bred. May flat out kill one/both of them if it nasty too. But if you have a space where the grammodes are safe, they will slowly pick away at the bigger fish/tankmates till they are happy.

Nice looking pair, looking at them, I can see that is there tank, and the breidhori, being much bigger would probably work, but for long term, hmmm...
