I have three yo yo loaches currently in a 10 gallon tank. They are still small, under an inch. I am wanting to get about six brevis shell dwelling cichlids and was wondering if I the two species could get along until the loaches are big enough to put in my other tank.

Alright thanks. That's what I figured. But I was hoping that since the loaches have been in there for about a month that hopefully they will be able to hold their own for a while. I'll keep an eye on them though

I would definately be very carefull. I have some Brevis Kitumba orange belly and they are the most aggressive fish I have ever seen. They will go as far as coming right out of the water after my hand when I am trying to feed the fry in the shell. They bite my hand all the time. The poor little loaches will be toast. Just yesterday my male jumped right out onto the floor trying to get my hand at feeding time. I love the agressive little bastards.

Oh wow. That sounds like they are awesome fish. I might just take the loaches back to my lfs and wait on getting them when they're bigger or something. Thanks for the feedback.
