i know they go around using electric pulses and they have poor vision. With that being said, is it okay to have the tank very well lit? I've always been using a planted tank light fixture for the tank im housing my aba aba right now. Would the light be too bright? All my other fish i've had in that tank never seemed to care.

I think they prefer dim lighting, but as long as you have a place for it to hide in, it should be fine.

They prefer dim light especially juveniles, but adult somehow gets used to the lights when they are already used to the tank and especially when foods is present. Your other fish would soon be killed the aba aba or eaten if they are bite size. Aba aba can grow big and very aggressive with powerful jaw.
