I went brine shrimp fishing today. I happen to live right next to the Great Salt Lake in Utah. This is a prime brine shrimp natural breeding place. This was my first time going. I would do a few thing different next time (like get some wading boots). This is the type of fishing that works for me they just stay there and wait for you to scoop them out. Free food for my fish. Don't believe every thing you hear about Utah we saw a kid out there with a beer in his had at 10:00 AM. They are now in flats in my freezer waiting to feed my fish.

Yeah, My family moved us down here when I was 3 months old. I hear its a beautiful place. Just.....not much happening...

Looks like a great source for free fish food! I didn't know the lake had brine shrimp. Are there any fish?

No fish it is too salty for them. It is quite a bit saltier than the ocean. It does have lots of migratory birds though most feed off the brine shrimp. We even had a flamingo that came back every year for about 20 years. Didn't return last year though.

gotta love free fish food- I catch crayfish in the summer for my puffers - 2 week quarantine and it is dinner time

Many people don't that the brand names get Brine from here as well as their other sources ;) Every now and again... A Boat Fight is in the news.... As they have been known to RAM one another for crossing imaginary lines of terrirtories :) There are now bouys... to mark territories ;)
