I'm looking for brine shrimp sold in Barbados. I'm 17 and want to start breeding small fish first but no pet shop i know sells brine shrimp eggs and i don't want frozen shrimp because you actually have to buy the ice which by the way i can get from my freezer thank you. Can anyone help me out on this because i cannot buy from overseas.

hi
why can't you buy from over seas.

Is it because of reg's or is it just down to cost
i'm in the UK so i don't know

Check your local puddles for daphnia and scuds. They are easy to culture and perform the same role in feeding young fish. And they are pure fresh so you don't need to buy salt and keep buying more eggs all the time. Just keep a bucket of each and feed them, you'll have thousands. And the daphnia can be added directly to the fry tank, they can't hurt the fry and the fry eat the eggs as they hatch. Scuds are best fed to fry with larger mouths that can defend themselves, since scuds can be predatory. But I've never used brine shrimp and my fry have good growth rates.

actually from my experience daphnia is a better source for fries than brine shrimp. the size gained from it is like 10-15% more and larger than the one fed with brine shrimp
