Anyone here feed live brine shrimp purchased from their LFS? Anyone had any problems?

I've always thought it would be better to use frozen or grow your own, only b/c I don't know what pathogens they are exposed to in the water at the LFS

use frozen but if u want to use live, empty the live bag of bs from the lfs into a small net.
put the bb into the tank from the net leaving the saltwater in the bag to be thrown away

That and rinse the BS with freshwater before putting it in the tank. I've never had a problem feeding live BS. If you buy to much you can always rinse them and freeze them too.

I think I am going to go frozen.

The LFS where I used to work had their own brine shrimp breeding setup, the shrimp they sold were always healthy. I never personally used them, but customers were regularly purchasing it, so it must have been good stuff. I would rinse the shrimp in a fine net before feeding.

frozen for me now, but ive used live before when i had a BGK. with no problems, i used a net though.

Additionally, I think frozen will be easier to keep in quantity. Don't have to worry about keeping them alive til the fish eat them all.

frozen is much more convenient, it is the nutritional content I'd worry about, but then again, it is just something you supplement to the regular diet
