I've seen a bristle worm around 4-5" and was wondering how I can get rid of it? I managed to get 1 out using tongs and the I found this one I have 2 sixline wrasse but I don't think they're going to take one this big. I've heard arrow crabs will is this true? Or should I get a glass bottle and put a piece of silver side in it and just wait it out? What would be best?

Your best bet is to trap them, to get them out, the arrow crabs will help some but not enough unless you only have a few of them in your tank. Marine bettas are also known to eat bristle worms but that can be hit or miss.

the glass bottle is your best bet but bristleworms are harmless detriovurs but hurt when you touch them

Arrow crab that B*tch:headbang2

arrow crabs will also eat feather dusters and pther marine inverts...

a nylon stocking with some food in it works well too

I hate to disagree with mr.reef, but from my readings on them there are a number speacies of bristle worm that will destroy a reef and are carniverous, though not usualy a problem when small, or in a huge tank, but in a nano or other small tanks these bristle worms could take appart a reef reasonably quickly, though that is also dependant on food stuffs that are available, and again on the size of the worm.

BUT these bristle worms are NOT the ones usualy found in tanks, so I would say leave it, and if you start noticing things dieing, disapearing or damaged then its possible that the bristle worm is the cause in which case it should be removed.
