I've been watching my big male fanning his cave for a while. Finally he moved out and tiny babies have left to explore the tank. The camera wouldn't focus on their tiny bodies.

Cool man. My Bristles dropped a while back in an outside pond. By the time I realized they got a spawn off, there were about 20 remaining. Here's a pic of a survivor.

Awesome. Does the shrimp bother them?

I think the shrimp are fine and even clean the eggs...

The shrimp ignore them but quickly scavenge any baby that doesn't make it. They don't fan the eggs, the male was quite protective and didn't even let shrimp get too close to the eggs. Since setting this tank up, combining different tanks, the shrimp population has tripled. Even the tetras ignore the tiniest babies though I'm sure a few do get eaten

If you keep your fish well fed, it seems to limit the shrimp predation. I had a shrimp colony with some Bentosi Tetra and they co-existed well for a while. I went on vacation for a week and over that time period they seemed to develop a taste for shrimplets . Since then they having been putting a dent into my population but with enough cover, it doesn't seem to hurt population.

I ignore them on occasion, before I combined my shrimp tank into this one I tried feeding the shrimp to the tetras. They chased them for a second but gave up pretty quickly. Since then the moss and other plants filled in and survival has really increased.
