just want to know what i have to do for them...ok i know they have to have at least a 20 gallon long and they need a pice of driftwood in the tank and also pots and caves and such to breed in.. so what else do i need to know? im going to feed the babies algae wafers and hikari first bites so what else do i need to know?

well i dont have any of those things u said, i have a 10 gallon tank normal zise, with a normal hood, penguin 125 biowheel and heater. 2 rocks slanted with a small 1.5 inch pot holding one side up to make a cave. well before u say im horrible for making them live here, its only for the winter and my parents wont let me get a bigger tank. in the summer spring and fall when water is like 65 F or more i put them in my 125g pond. thats where they grew up this summer when i got them as fry.
well one day i noticed one of my goldfish i had in the tank cuz he got born that summer and i thought he was too weak to survive the winter, had a bunch of orange eggs in his mouth. i got mad and put him back in the pond and hes fine now. none of those eggs survived. the plecos laid again and got over 80 fry in a 10 gallon with now driftwood only 2 flat rock caves and one big mass of floating plant. its been a month since the egs were ;laid and about 3 weeks since they hatched, there big now and activily eating cucumber, algae waffers, and any algae they may find. i gave 37 away and im giving more to the same guy who set up a 55 for em. and i got another friend who has a 10 gal. the guy with the 55 raising tank has a 90 community that he can devide if i got more fry for him. and the guy with the 10 raising tank has a 55 community with a divider if i have more fry. im gonna keep around 15 fry to raise in my 10 g and give the rest away. but in the summer im keeping all, i just hope they dont all get eaten by the goldfish and koi.
as u can see those things are deffinitly not mandatory although they might help. ill make a new topic with pics later.
