I accidentally left a small sheet of filter floss in the tank after I cleaned the filter. As it turns out, my albino bristlenose is too curious for it's own good. I found it entangled in the filter floss today; I thought it was dead. It wasn't.

I scooped it out in a shallow container and had to snip away all the bits of filter floss entangled in it's fins and pleco spine things (on the side of the head)

Luckily I'm amazing and I successfully removed it all.
Lesson learned

I once had a full-size common pleco get himself stuck in a fake hollow log. he had been going into it for years, but he finally got too big and he was jammed in good, couldn't go forward or backwards

I had to take it out of the tank and then spend probably 1/2 hour trying to get him out of it w/o damaging his fins, which kept getting stuck (and w/o cutting my own hands on those sharp fin-spikes; ow!) . . . not to mention that I had to keep putting the log back in the water so he could breathe, and then I'd try again to get him out

FWIW, that was the last common pleco I've ever owned . . .

I had the same thing happen with a striped rafael cat in a pirate ship lol
It was sad but really funny bc every time I removed the ship he would start croaking immediately. he knew what he had done. in a pirate ship
