I've a ~4 inch male bristlenose that somehow managed to break his pectoral fin about 2/3rds down from the base.
The part that is broken off is hanging by the rest of the fin, with maybe one spine of the fin broken.
Should I take him out, and trim off the broken pectoral fin, or let it fall off on its own?
I'll get pics if needed, but it's a fairly clean break of just the main spine in his fin.

I've upped my water changes to 60% 2x a week from once a week, just to help him out.

My bristlenose plecos break fins all the time. Usually the fins on the sides, front (I think pelvic fins?). They turn red, I wait for them to fall off, up water changes a bit, and it usually grows back over a while.

This happens to one of the females in my colony of ancstrus sp. pucallpa gold every few months or so. Nothing to worry to much about. Like giveneausername said, up your water changes and it should heal up

Alright I'll keep up with the extra water changes. Thanks all
