i got an 80G tank sitting in the garage and i want to use it but the plactic trim on the top is seperated at one of the corners. is there an easy was to fix this or could it still hold up if i use it as is?

Is it an AGA brand tank? I know that AGA will sell moldings for theor tanks to general public. This is done so that the entire upper modling (including a broken brace) could be replaced. Personally, I would not risk trying to fix just the brace itself -- it will never be as strong as the original, once piece construction

I've fixed several of them before. It's not that big of a deal. As long as the rest of the plastic upper frame is intact all you have to do is completely remove the broken brace and replace it with a 3/8's of an inch thick, 4 or 5 inch wide piece of plexiglass. Measure the piece so that it fits well on the END of the tank and then epoxy it in possition in the center...euro brace style. Use a clamp to hold the ends tight against the new brace until the two part epoxy cures in about a day or so....fill and enjoy...

its my cousins tank, its from the 80s. ill try epoxy. thanks folks

i just epoxyed my 90 last week its been holding watter since then with no bowing or any thing like that.

this is in the corner on the tank, not a middle brace. its where the front and right side meet on top
