i just bought a (slightly used) eheim 2026 canister filter. i had to take it apart to check the impeller and while doing so the rubber nub on the end stuck in the bottom, the magnet came off, and the ceramic shaft broke.
upon looking online, i found that a replacement shaft is $26 + tax and shipping which seems a little steep to me. whereas a shaft for a fluval is only $7 and from the online photo, it looks identical. however, i don't want to buy something that won't fit. i tried to find the dimensions of the fluval shaft to no avail.
so, can anyone tell me if the fluval shaft would work? or at least give the dimensions of the shaft? it says it's for 304/305/404/405 A-20066. (i know it's probably bad to want to mix and match parts, but really, over $30 for that!?!) if they don't match i'll just suck it up and spend the cash...
