broken nose

I got 2 gars from snookn21
one got a broken nose. Not from the shipping but from the little guy jumping out of his box while being acclimated for the 125g. Very small break only about a cm if that in. Will this scar? It looks normal untill he touchs the glass. Then it folds up. As soon as he goes through the rest of the tank it becomes normal. I dont want a scar. Any tips? And these guys are active as crap. I will post pics later

i say bump the temp add aquarium salt and some melafix until it heals it up

Might be OK, I remember when Jordan's gars got chomped by the pacu and they healed.

How are snook's gars? Nice? I got fish from him last week and everything was great, was thinking of getting some of those gars if this pond thing ever gets off the ground.

don't add melafix with the gar, they don't always react that well to it...and it isn't terribly effective with gars anyway.

just bump up the temp, keep up with water changes and the damage should heal up on its own. there is nothing you can do about scarring if there is any, so that's pretty much irrelevant. fish should be ok, just make sure it's not continually spooked into bumping into the tank glass. pics may help determine how much damage there is and estimate recovery.--

no problem. how big of a fish did you get from him? i got a big FL from him several weeks ago and it ate shrimp on the first try. nice specimen at about 16" plus--

Yeah, I saw where he had some bigger ones, I think lately he had 6" and 10"-1' Floridas.

I got an 8" silver aro and the 4 pack of jurupari...except I actually got 5 jurupari Everybody ate pellets right out of the box.
