Hey everyone,

I've got a little RTC that I'm growing out and today while feeding I noticed that has right pectoral fin is bent at an odd angle. Have you ever seen anything like this? And is there any way to fix it?

It may be wishful thinking, but I'm hoping maybe as it grows it'll just kind of fix itself. Let me know what you think. And sorry for the bad pictures, the tank gets a lot of sun during this time of day so there's a lot of glare. That and the little guy won't stop moving.

I'm betting not as I've got a tsn with a damaged pectoral fin that hasn't improved at all since I got him. Gives him character. Lol

Haha I figured as much. Was kind of grasping at some final hope that he'll somehow just heal himself. Oh well, you're right. It makes them different and gives them character.

It does not appear possible to guess the reason but it is probably immaterial. The fin won't right itself. This is not a soft tissue. The spine is a bone or a bone-like material. They don't change angles of growth unless in a cast.

I had the dorsal spine of my tig get bitten off by my Mbu. (I assume that us what happened) It grew back just fine. I realize broken and removed may not heal the same.
