I recently notices one of my juvinile festae seems to be injured. He swims around with his side fins, and even when spooked he will rarely use his tail. His tail is a bit crooked but it is hard to tell. Other than that he looks fine He is also having trouble getting the food i feed them but he is not thin, which leeds me to believe that this just happened. Any ideas?

well i took him out and moved his tail back and fourth and it seemed to have full movement. I let him back into the tank asap so not to promote any additional stress. It seemes as though over the past few days it has gotten better and is using his tail in a normal fashion now. Not sure if i did any good but i am happy with him now:headbang2.

sometimes when a fish is stressed i have seen them hide up in the corner with the tail curled-as if to defend their bodies. you may want to watch him for aggression-he may be getting picked on.
