i just finished cleaning my 10g feeder tank it had no cracks at all or chips i filled it with warm water so the heater wouldnt take as long to heat the water i see the tank a minute later it has a 1inch crack on the tank so i go to get a bucket and when i come back it went to 2inch i watched it and it slowy went to the top of the tank with a loud pop :irked: idk why it happened im guessing cold air warm water has this happened to anyone else

You would have had to had the tank in the freezer and put in hot water for it to have cracked...and the cracking would have occurred pretty quickly (basically right when the hot water hit it).

I am unsure why the tank would have cracked, perhaps you might have bumped it when you moved the tank (if you moved it).

I have had a warm bowl of ramen (like, the outside of a paper coffee cup on fresh starbucks) crack a glass table but it didn't crack for 10 minutes and the table was at 72*.

Yeah, but that is concentrated heat on a large surface, there was no part of the tank that would have heated that unevenly.

i live in freaking texas hottest place alive its finallly getting in the low 40's though the tank confused the crap out of me just good thing it was only a 10g

Yeah, it is good that it was only a 10 gallon. When I was first starting up with my first fish tank I plugged the old school glass heater in, and when I tried to fill it up you can guess what happened. I felt pretty stupid.

kaboom!! ha nice im using an old glass heater also in the tank i hate it but it works
