the here and now
Just wondering if anyone has anyone has some new ideas for my Cory cats...I have 7 and would like to breed a more...although i'm not entirely sure how to "get them in the mood?!" :naughty: Any ideas...

oh and if i ever become successful...i know
the adult Corie's will try to eat their fry, this is why we have provided a lot of hiding places, should i just remove them out of the tank and place in a separate tank until they get bigger??

Any helpful hints are greatly appreciated...;)

Ok, I'd start by feeding them on live garden worms for maybe a week and having the tanks temp on 27. Do a very big water change, and drop the temp to about 24 and you'll have eggs everywhere!

OK we do about 50% water changes pretty frequently, so we have that down pat now to just lower the temp and get them some garden worms...sounds easy enough..Thanks so much! I'll keep up dating...maybe we will have some new comers soon!
*crosses fingers*

Worms or live tubifex worms if you can get them,to get them in condition. Then a big waterchange with a temp drop. Some people throw a tray of ice cubes in the tank.

No problem. Corydoras are one of my favourite fish.

yea they sure are something to watch...they are so active...I love relaxing by the tank and just watching all the activity!!
Darn sounds like this water temp thing may get in the way of the Oscars, i may just end up moving them to a smaller tank, My BF says it would not be good to drop the temp that much...and im gonna roll with what that. I'll just have to see what i can workout, I really want to try breeding them.

It should be right, because the temp won't be dropped for very long, like a day or two max.

My albino corys seemed to spawn each time I did a water change a couple months ago. They run out of eggs eventually, so you can't have a breeding pair forever. I wish I would have saved the eggs, though. I have yet to see my peppered corys spawn.
