Here are my brook trout fingerlings. The video isn't great but it gives you some idea of their voracious appetite. They jump from the water as they wait for their trout chow. They also jump for fingers, red lasers, people passing the tank... they love their chow.

Our class received them the end of November as eyed eggs. Its almost time to release them. The plan is let them go on May 15th.

Nice to see schools have programs like this for students. Looks like your class did a great job raising them.

any side shots of them?

very nice. my school has atlantic salmon about the same size. :D hahaha we got them as eggs too. they are very hard to take care of.

This is from two weeks ago. They range in size from a few runts at less than two inches to a few that are a little over three.

What state is doing salmon? Are you out west?

Very nice, guess your school doesn't skimp on equipment? Chiller for them has to be $ for the budget.

Most of the equipment came from a grant through TU and the PA Fish & Boat Commission. It’s a program that is offered in many states. I think every teacher who loves fish should apply.

Our brookies get released tomorrow morning. It is time for them to go since they are getting so big (and our permit expires soon). The largest are a little over 4 inches. I have many things I need to do to get ready. Haven't looked at my pictures from today but if any turned out I may post them. The tank is so cold compared to the room that I had to wipe the condensation from the outside to take the pictures. It won't seem the same when that tank is empty on Monday. We will really miss them.
