im getting a weird yellowish brown tinge to my water and some brown algae growing in the tank. i have led light set upon my 120 its been setup for about 2 months now. i have a 40breeder as a sump with a filter sock and 40 lbs of biomax in the sump with a 1500pgh pump, the algae seems to be like free floating in the water bc it turns a new filter sock brown witihn a day. and there is only one fish in the tank, any ideas?

My guess is that, one, it's still basically a new set up and algae blooms can happen as the tank matures. Second, how long are your lights on? Might want to cut back on the time the lights are on and see what happens. Third, you probably have excess nutrients, which cause the blooms. Check your water parameters and do consistent water changes and see if that has any affect.

Good luck!
