Hello I have a few amazon swords in my 29g along with some java moss and there is brown algae growing on the swords like the brown algae I get on my glass. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of it? Water temp is 78 lights are 24" 5500k daylight tropic sun and there's about 13 hours of light a day give or tAke a few hours

Hello; If you are not opposed to snails, try some rams horn snails. They will help keep the algae down. Others have posted about snails that do not reproduce in fresh water, Spelled something like neterite. I have not run across them as yet. They are reported to be good algae eaters. They also apparently lay a lot of eggs that do not hatch and become unsightly. I do not know what they cost.
There is also a small catfish called an ottocincus (sp?) that has been posted to be a good algae eater by others. Perhaps others will have experience with these and know how to spell their names.

I would prefer not to get snails but I have considered getting some ottos
