brown algae on white sand!!!

what is the best way to get rid of this stuff. i tried stirring up the sand but it did not work too well??anyone else have this problem??

i mean if your really h8 it i guess you could remove some of the sand at worst case other then that more WC also don't overfeed...it does nothing but benfit your tank and looks more natural

I seem to recall that brown algae are diatoms and they grow when you have excessive silicates and nitrates. Are you using silica sand? How often do you do WCs?

Increase your water flow across the bottom to eliminate dead spots. Powerhead!

yeah it is silica sand, but i had it in another tank and it never happend, i might have to try out the powerhead solution it is a big ass tank and i dont think i have enough aeration.
