I am having some trouble keeping in my my fish alive in my 150 gallon tank. I have a large amount of brown algae. I was wondering if that could be a problem. I have a few algae eater but they don't seem to eat the brown algae. I dont know if it could have some thing to do with my fish dying or not. so if you have any ideas please let me know thanks

bigger filter and more light.....NOT SUN LIGHT.

I have medium hardness about a 9 kH and my pH is about 7.6
I have a eheim filter that filters the water 4 times and hour My Question is Can brown algae be harmful?

it's more of a nuisance than anything. How many watts/gallon is your lighting? I've seen this following the installation of a new filter or after a VERY heavy water change, did you do either?

Is the tank in direct sunlight? It sounds like a combo of sunlight and poor water quality to me.

Well, what are your water parameters?
That is exactly the first question I would have asked. If diatoms were the problem, people would have complained deaths for this similar reason. Diatoms are not poisonous therefore this is not the cause of your problems.

Hopwood, could you please post the stocklist of your tank? Please be specific with the fish you called "algae eaters". How about your filtration and water change schedule?
