IN YOUR HEAD
i have a heavly planted 55gal with hydroponics on it...i have a hell of a brown alge prombelm...i have sensitive fish in and predators in the tank...anyone know a good "cleaner" of the alge...

tank stock

4x payara
3x sen bichirs
3x silver aro
1x lima cat
1x juruense cat
1x black ghost knife
5x amozon sword
1x onion plant
1x lilly pad
1x bamboo
1x vine plant

don't need coments on it being over stocked, just how to kill the alge and nothing else...i tried a pleco, but it likes to eat the plants, thanx

no ideas...i am talking about the alge on the leaves of the plants as i scrape it off the sides

Your not going to like it when i say this, but my thought is your stocking. They might be causing it. For instance, my 100g was over stocked with 3 large oscars, 1 large pleco, 1 jack, mayan, salvini, black devil, and green terror. The sump media would be full of brown algea, where as my 125g running the exact same setup would not be nearly as bad but the stocking was far less.

it might be, but this same set up with only 3 sen bichirs and a lima cat was doing the same thing...it has a lot of direct sunlight...i have overfiltration onthe tank...is their a way to get rid of it

Hmm, ya i would say direct sunlight is probably a factor. The one way i use it on my sump i put like 4-5 layers of filer material on top of each other, and that usually helps catch it. Other than that not really, limit how much the lights are on. Its a pain, I haven't found much that will work.
