I actually caught these awhile back. I have a few tanks set up at my wife's school for the kids, so they have been raising them for me. They Out grew their tanks so I took them back and will replace with something else .

I had a lake near my dorm with brown bullheads in it. I used to feed them leftovers from meals. I could hand feed them. At less than a foot long, they can eat a whole hard boiled egg.

Good job! Have you ever caught / come across any that'd be close to the reported max size of ~23" total length?

Not really, biggest one in the lake where I fed them was I think 16", but that was with me looking down into the weed choked water at fish jumping over each other to get food.

I haven't caught one that big yet, biggest I have caught was about 15-16". Would love to see a 23" specimen though.
