brown bullheads from what i have read and heard are extremely to provide the right conditions for spawning, as for tadpole madtoms i haven't heard anything
thanks I think I'll take my chances with the brown bullheads, but what are the right conditions for them to breed? I've read they dig holes in mud, but i don't know much else.
Brown Bullheads are easiest. Madtoms require very highly oxygenated waters (think trout streams).
Brown Bullhead are easy to breed by adding cooler water to each water change to mimick spring rains. Then allow the water to be warmer. Bullhead will lay eggs in shallow areas within heavly planted areas or in clay pots split in two.
bull head fry hide in their parents mouths when in danger its fun to watch im pro bullhead make them feel like its spring and that should do it if they are wild specimens
Thanks for the answers now is that method for aquarium or pond use? i was planning on attempting to breed them in my pond, but if its possible in the aquarium that'd be much better. and that is interesting about the fry hiding in the parents mouths, i'd like to see that one day.
