kept bullheads when i was a kid, not much special to keeping em. damn near impossible to kill but obviously keep the water clean like you would any other fish. not picky about food will eat just about anything they can fit in their mouth from live to market shrimp, worms, chicken livers, not real picky

cool deal, if he's a little guy you'll be amazing by how much different there colors are in aquariums. ours actually ended up being more of a blackish color from being in clean water instead of wallowing in the mud 24/7 - have fun!
Hes about a foot now so idk how much growing he has left but thanks for the tips

Dont worry...have him in his own tank all water from his natural habitat, and ill probably end up keeping him now! Kind of cute

very interesting fish even though people call them trash fish. i had a couple for about 3 years and they are really social and are like pirhanas when they feed.

It doesnt matter, DO NOT release this fish! People that do that make all of us look bad, and it can cause a lot of harm to the environment!
sorry to thread jack but what about when people buy live shiners from bait shops or raise their own and use them in public lakes?
