Does anyone keep Brown Bullheads? I recently caught a few juveniles and young adults, and I'm looking to gain information on them from beginning to end.

I have two 1in juveniles in 10gal until they are closer to the size of my other Bullhead which about 5in (that one is in 55gal). As they grow, I'll keep upgrading the tanks. Ultimately, I'd like to put all three in my 110gal if that's feasible? Or will I need to either obtain a larger tank or release some of them to keep them in a 110gal?

I was also wondering how quickly Bullheads grow, and what size to they max out at in captivity? Additionally, how long is their lifespan? I'm kind of hoping to finally have something that has a longer lifespan than my crayfish and shrimp, heh.

And any other advice, comments, experiences are always appreciated. Thanks!

a 110 should be fine for life. I have mine in a 125 I have found that they seem to be pretty territorial as no one goes near his pot not even my 10 inch oscars will go near it. not sure of there life span but probably fairly long I would think 5-10 years??

So the schooling effect disappears as they grow? Hmm, maybe I'll just keep one of them then. What species of bullhead do you have, browns too?

Additional question to all, is it best to try and replicate the natural diet as much as possible or they OK (health wise, my cats eat anything so I don't think its a preference thing) with being switched over to prepared foods?

the schooling affect disappeared when they got older but i only have 2 browns but when they were 1-2 inches they were always together now they are on opposite sides of the tank. and diet wise i would go frozen and prepared foods mine eat shrimp, shrimp pellets, algae waffers, worms....ect.ect. So in my opinion i think that what ever is on hand is a good diet.
