20 2-3in cichlids in 30 gal.fb300 fbf, aquaclear 300.It seems that all of my anacharis plants are covered with some brown stuff. The plants don't seem to grow out the leaves fully and they don't seem to grow quick.some of the leaves are brown from dying. What's wrong here?

What are your water parameters? The brown stuff you are seeing is most likely brown algae or just dead plant material. Brown algae can be caused by high nitrates and insufficient lighting. With 20 cichlids in a 30 gallon you are over stocked in my opinion. What are your water changes like? What kinda lighting do you have? Anacharis get most of their nutrients through their leaves. A good liquid fertilizers will do wonders for this plant. Also this plant is medium to high light requirements.

Anacharis plants have never been a favorite of mine. If this was a different plant I would say you could wipe the brown algae off, but i doubt you could do this with the anacharis.

The nitrites are almost non visible. I do water changes about every 2 weeks.I forgot i also have a 4" common pleco. If i gently shake and/or gently squeeze the plants, the brown stuff comes off.Where can i get this fertilizer at?

You shouldn't need any of this for that particular plant, Anacharis pretty much needs only water. Your lighting is probably just fine as well. Can you snap a few pics of them?

Thats not right.

I don't know of any plant that "pretty much needs only water".

From what you said when you shake the plants then the brown stuff comes off. Then that seems like just fish waste.

Your nitrites are almost non visible thats good but what are your nitrates? I will bet they are pretty high considering you have 20 cichlids and a common pleco in a 30 gallon and only do water changes ever couple of weeks. I would suggest getting rid of the common pleco it gets way to big for a 30 gallon. 20 cichlids what type of cichlids? Many cichlids get large and a 30 gallon want last very long.
What kinda lighting do you have? If your lighting is low the Anacharis will grow slow and short. If you give this plant more lighting and more nutrients it will grow right up to the top of the water. As far as liquid ferts go you can get them at any decent lfs for fairly cheap.

mine used to rot alot cuz i had it planted in the gravel then i pulled it out and left it floating and it did much better. but it still looked sh**y so i trashed it
