brown feathery algae

My pleco recently died and now there is brown/black feathery substance floating in my cholla rib. How an I get rid of it. I tried cleaning it with rubbing alcohol. Is there an in the water tank treatment I can use? Also I use RO water in this 60 gallon tank. Do I need to add any remplentish any chemicals? Thank you
