Just means they've been eating algae or plant matter 
. We leave algae and soft plant in the tank for our fish to nibble on to help their digestive systems. The result is green brown poop . Sometimes when the algae piles up there is tons and tons of the green stuff at the bottom

Sometimes when the algae piles up there is tons and tons of the green stuff at the bottom .However, if the poop consists of a cluster of worm-like objests rather than a single strand then it would actually be real worms called camallanus worms, if so you need to treat the tank with Levamisole or fenbendazole, the fizzy tabs from Jungle labs called parasite clear also usually work. These worms are usually reddish brown, not green.
