why does my sand keep on going brown,its realy geting me down,,my params are
salt,1.025
ammonia,0
nitrite,0
nitrate,5
ph,8.12
phosphate,0.045
kh,11
magnesium,???
calcium,500
any help would be great,,thanks

Yup its got to be the diatoms. Are you keeping fish in that tank? Usually I like to keep the SG a little lower than that like at 1.024 if I have fish in the tank. Its not that big of a difference though.

ill have to 5th the diatoms. Just wait it out, it will go away after the tank matures and stabilizes.
