so i have ability to purchase a gun i have been dreaming of for years.... this is the same kind of gun bonnie and clyde used automatic 30/6.... ive known the guy who is thinking of selling this for a few years he bought it like 20 years ago... he said he cleaned it up and fired it a few times and it usually jams up and there are a few other problems that are not too major but i need to know what is a fair offer for this gun? he told me to make a offer but i have no idea what to offer... i know these are pretty rare

Thanks
Nic

I'm nearly 100% sure you are confusing the M1918 BAR with the Browning BAR hunting rifle.

Ive never seen an M1918 for sale but I would guess youre looking at around $50,000.

I've seen one for sale at a gun show (1918) a few years back but I don't recall what is was going for. If the guy has a true BAR 1918 it's worth a mint.

its a true bar.... same style bonnie and clyde had..... i just spoke to him said i could afford to make him any reasonable offer... he said its going to some gunsmith down south to be refurbished and then auctioned off..... :( suck one of my dream guns ill never be able to afford... is 50K really what these things go for? :( i know it needs work but way out of budget for me....

Semiauto M1918 can be had in the 2 to 6 grand range. Ohio ordnance made them in a couple different models. The A1918 was the early WW1 version M1918a3 was their WW2 / Korean war model.

Best one in my opinion was the A1918 it is a fun gun and I like the stocks better. It is oddly lighter and better balanced IMHO...

This gun is a joke in Full auto (Even BAR gunners rarely would use them as such) with little reason to own one as such, unless you really just have to fill that need in a collection. An early unaltered, non bubba, fully original Full auto M1918 such as that Barrow used would be worth well over 50,000.00 and would likely place more into the 80 to 120,000 dollar range depending on condition.
