Brownish tint to water.

I have had my Aquarium set up for quite awhile but now it seems like there is a brown tint to the water and brown algae is growing on the glass. Anyone have any suggestions?

i would try getting an algae scrubber and scrubbing the entire tank. then do a 40% water change. and add new carbon to your filter. also you may wanna change the polishing pad or floss pad

I think I have discovered the culprit for my dirty tank. The intake hose for fluval filter is in a loop and my out take isnt in a loop but it dips down almost to floor then goes to the outake. Could that make a difference?

no loop, no kink and only an extra 4" on the hose for the perfect flow.
