My tank has been brownish but see through. I did have some driftwood in there but removed 2 weeks ago. Best way to clear things up?

I did a 50% water change 2 days ago and changed filter pads in my fx5. More carbon?

Why rush it? The tinted water wont harm your fish, in fact some species prefer it. You've removed the source so the tint should gradually disappear over the next few water changes anyway.

The tannins from the wood are slightly anti-bacterial, so if you have certain Amazonian type fish that are prone to bacterial infections from typical Unitedstatian water, they are almost mandatory.
