Hi all,

One of my oscars has a spot on the top of his head. The best way to describe it is it looks like a bruise on top of his head. Could this be just exactly what I just described or is it potentially an early sign of hole in the head disease or something else? If it's something that needs to be tended to I'd like to get it taken care of before it gets too bad.

Thanks

I’d suggest posting a pic. Clean water does wonders for scrapes and bruises.

Ok. I’ll see if I can get a pic of him. Doesn’t sit still very well rn. And their water is good just has tannins from the wood pieces I have in the tank and I just did a water change a couple days ago.

I owned an oscar years ago that would literally jump out of the water because he thinks that the water droplets that's been formed in the lid is "food" and yeah sometimes he would get bruises or even wounds if he ever get to the top bracing of the tank.

Just like what kno4te kno4te said, a pic would be better and clean water would definitely heal up the bruise (considering it's not HITH) in no time.
