My baby RBP are eating the back fins off my feeders and the feeders are dying because of it......is this normal? Why can't the just eat them lol!

how larger are your babies? Im getting at are they too small to eat a full feeder yet? How many do you have? If you have one maybe two then they may not have any kind of urgency to eat it up right away. In the wild its eat or get left out and when one gets something they all swarm in like monsters to get a bite, VERY jealous fish.

Also are you just sitting there watching them? RB;s are very bashfull and dont like to be watched to much.. Try shutting the lights off and standing back when its time to eat, they should put on a better show. Give them some time.

It's perfectly normal. In the wild at a younger age piranhas will eat other fish's fins to survive. The fins are actually full of nutrients and is well enough for baby piranhas to live on. Just make sure you remove the cadavers so you don't screw up your water parameters...

Yeah, I am removing the bodies as soon as I see them. I have 3 and they are about 2" each. I have noticed they just chill in the corner when im around but when I stand back they seem to be more lively. Should i keep racking out the money for the rosies or hold off till my fish get bigger?
