Currently I have 2 7 inch Brycon dentex in a 100 gallon along with a bichir and a bellycrawler pike cichlid. For those of you that dont know, Brycon dentex are a schooling characin native to south America. They reach around 16 inches, very active, visible teeth, and the most aggressive fish I've ever owned. I'm thinking that they may be compatible with 2-3 red belly piranha of a smaller soze since i read that red bellies can be housed with exodons. Ive also owned exodons and their behavior is almost exactly the same as my Brycon. Does anyone else think this will work? Or will I just end up with red bellies in my tank eventually?

Nothing can be housed with red bellies. They will even eat their own kind eventually. The brycon may be fast enough to avoid them for a long time but just like with exodons it can only end with one fish or the other dead.

Alright thanks I guess it's not worth the risk. Would a red wolf fish yield a similar outcome? Or are the chances of this working greater? I seriously doubt a red wolf could catch or even kill a Brycon dentex unless it was larger. I had to move my dorado because my Brycon had it hiding in a cave.
